Subscriptions
SmartBear provides a unified experience for managing subscription plans across all supported solutions so you can easily upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription.
Important
To add subscriptions, you must add a billing method for your organization. For information, see Edit organization details.
Subscription Plans
Subscription plans simplify the management of API Hub features that Admins can interact with. For example, the API Hub offers four types of subscriptions for the Design, Contract Testing, Portal, and Explore features.
Involuntary Subscription Changes
An involuntary subscription change happens when a trial expires, or the subscription fails to charge, resulting in a change to the Free plan. Changing to a Free plan limits the functionalities of your subscription and blocks users from accessing the solutions.
If a subscription fails to renew due to a payment processing failure, SmartBear offers a three-day grace period so that your organization can address billing issues while users can continue to work. See Downgrades for more details.
If your subscription is moved to a Free plan, seats exceeding the quota will be blocked. This means users will be blocked from using the solutions. The following rules will be applied:
A blocked user is solution-specific.
Important
A user can be assigned seats to multiple solutions, so the same user can be blocked in one solution but unblocked in another. This is because solutions have independent subscriptions.
Users are blocked according to the date they joined the organization.
Blocking users takes place the moment the subscription changes (subscription ends).
Blocked users can log into the solutions but have no privileges within the solutions.
A blocked user's role within the solutions remains, so the respective role is still assigned when that user is unblocked after the successful payment and the subscription plan is reactivated.
The blocked state is recalculated if an administrator manually revokes the subscriptions to free up seats.

To avoid payment processing issues and potential blocked users. It is recommended that you keep your credit card information up to date and periodically monitor your subscription renewal.
